Excerpt: This document contains the report of the FAO/WECAFC Workshop on assessment of demersal stocks shared by Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela, which was held in Chaguaramas from 18 to 22 November 2002. The event was hosted by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. Principal funding for the workshop was provided under the FAO FishCode Programme through component projects ?Management for Responsible Fisheries? (GCP/INT/648/NOR), with Trust Fund support from the Government of Norway, and ?Responsible Fisheries for Small Island Developing States? (GCP/INT/823/JPN), with Trust Fund support from the Government of Japan. The workshop report is based on the work of D.L. Die (FAO/FishCode Consultant), J. Ali› (Researcher, INIA), L. Ferreira (Fisheries Officer, MALMR), L. Marcano (Researcher, INIA) and S. Soomai (Fisheries Officer, MALMR), with the technical assistance of Kevern Cochrane (Senior Fishery Resources Officer, FAO) and the editorial assistance of the FishCode Programme staff.
